What we say
This record left our Phil feeling happy.
The Mit 'Good Book' 7" on Half Machine Records is a bouncy electro rock tune which sounds like it's come straight outta Berlin. A bit Adult lite we though but with more of lo fi approach.
What the label says:
“A dance-floor killer of a tune - blistering funk-punk drumming, ball-busting fuzz bass and squeals and squelches of synth and moog” – Artrocker (single of the fortnight)
“these guys have created something to really dance like a crazy beast to” – High Voltage
MIT release their second single, ‘Good Book’ on Monday 25th June 2007 on Half Machine Records, on limited edition 7” and download, as the follow up to last years cult ‘Deine Eltern EP’.
‘Good Book’ (MIT’s first English language song), is a 5 minute and 17 second blast of disco drums, yelped vocals and lurching Moog synth lines, that will force you to the dancefloor and leave you bruised and breathless. However, b-side ‘Auf An Aus’ is a 56 second noise punk racket about…erm, turning things on and off.
Having toured their native Germany with a who’s who of underground music – Gossip, Robocop Kraus, Peaches, Les Georges Leningrad, Shitdisco (who loved MIT so much, they begged them to tour Europe with them) amongst many others. MIT are gaining quite a buzz among their country’s tastemakers too – Vice Magazine are already an enthusiastic supporter.
The band – Edi (bass and vocals), Tamer (Moog Rogue) and Felix (drums) – all still in their teens, have been making waves in the UK too having picked up early support from clubs like Trash, Liars Club and White Heat and coverage from Artrocker, Sup and countless others from only a handful of live appearances.
