This is one in the eye for all those cynics of honest, fun music - yes, there are nodding references to Jonathan RIchman, 60s surf music and others, but, hey, who cares? Giant is a gorgeous album to play on a summery day, with the windows open, or driving along in the car. I played this on the stereo of a hired station wagon on a road trip to Tofino on Vancouver Island and it was simply sublime.
