Real men do not dance! Is Karsten Pflum a real man? Yet he is a very talented musician who debuted in 2003 on the english Worm Interface label with "Tracks" which was followed by "Flugten Fra År 2000" on Jenka Music in 2005 and his most current work "Idhax" on the excellent danish electronica imprint Rump Recordings in fall 2006. Having listed all his album releases this may reads as a successful story of some bedroom producer who got picked up by label after label but Jacob Helverskov Madsen (aka Karsten Pflum), first drew attention to himself in 2002 by winning the 'Danish Arts Councils' award for young composer of the year. Since then he has been performing all over europe and his tunes have been played on a diverse number of radio programs both in and out of his home country, amongst these on the English BBC1?s Breezeblock and by the recently deceased John Peel. Always going further and deeper into electronic music the Pflum style is a well crafted and dynamix mix of D&B, playful twisted electronica and soulful soundscapes. No wonder his liveshows are as varied as you would expect and so are his releases... always up for a good smile and listening surprise!
Now he just got added to the Bohnerwachs artist roster with an incredibly new 4 tracker to start with which will be followed by a couple of shows during summer and probably much more material in the near future.
