A building, growing epic, ‘Roll Over’ features the remarkable vocals of Sabirajade, a newcomer who is set to cause much havoc with a voice that evokes real heart and soul. ‘Red Laser Beam’, meanwhile, is more tooled up for the dancefloor, ramming punk rock guitar up against next level electronics and B-movie sci-fi. ·Ever the men for maximum value, Hexstatic have also included two other tracks on this muscle-bound EP, all extended work-outs of album tracks. ‘Tokyo Traffic’ sounds like the best video game you've never played (a Japanese 'Frogger' perhaps?) and ‘Bust’ is the kind of cut-up, deconstructed computer boogie that'll have you popping and locking round your front room like you're twelve again.
