What we say

Rating: happy This record left our Mingus Rude feeling happy.

Molloy: "Tracy" (Way Out) is a girly fronted punky pop with very affected vocals, erm.. I mean there's fx on the vocals & there's synths too so you could call it (New) New Wave. Confident debut, on envious green vinyl ltd to five hundred copies.

What the label says:

MOLLOY present their debut 7” single “Tracy” as Way Out Records’ first release.
Limited edition 500 copies.  Green vinyl.

About the band:  In summer 2006 Jez and Caz decided to write a pop song.
Instead they wrote twelve pop songs, recorded them in their tiny Paris studio and chose a moniker in fitting with their green and orange attire: Molloy was thus born.
Following a cross-channel mutation, baby Molloy became the dirty-minded angular-electro-pop-rock band:
Caz (vocals, gtr), Jez (vocals, gtr, synth), Chaz (bass), Toz (drums) and Jacqz (synth).
They continue to write disgustingly danceable guitar / synth pop songs and play them in their own energetic prog / punk / pop way all over London town…and other places.

About the humble 7":

The humble 7" is the smallest of the vinyl formats (not including the ridiculous 5") and it's the perfect medium for transporting a couple of new songs by up and coming bands straight into your ears. They're fun and they take up less space in your house than something bigger would. They come in a plethora of exciting colours and fantastical packages, and you can fit about 14 minutes onto one 7". You may have to get up every few minutes to put a new record on but think of the exercise. Don't forget every record you buy plays at least 2 speeds (depending on your stereo) and you need to play all records on all speeds to get the maximum joy from your purchase.

'when there was crab there was harmony.'
