Week in and week out I don't have give myself a load of rubbish to review.... Here's a raunchy 7" by Trash Money which is like a more indie version of ZZ Top. I guess the beards at the lower end of the face have been relocated to the top of the head for some more interesting hair design. Something I'm always keen on. My dad used to be a hairdresser so it runs in the blood.... I wee scissors at night timeAfter their successful self-titled debut album “Trash Money”, released on Tragic Records, Trash Money are back with a new single from that well received album ‘747’. A live favourite ‘747’ has the hooks, and dirt style the band are known for. Trash Money are the band created by former Sneaker Pimps Joe Wilson and Chris Tate of Hunch Pilgrim (and sometime Sneaker Pimps live performer). The band started as a duo in 1998. Live they are joined by David Westlake, also formerly of Sneaker Pimps and writer drummer with Ultrafox, Molly Dolittle Slade formerly of Little Killers and Cary Creed. Musically about as far from its trip hop parent as can be, embracing punk, irony, experimentation and lyrically subjects as diverse as jeans, mental health issues and air disasters and actively suspicious of the corporate horrors of the music business. With past singles like ‘You Lied Satan’ named NME, and XFM Lauren Laverne’s single of the week, the band are hoping for more of the same with this their 3rd single. The band have a large following amongst fans of cult BBC comedy show 'The Mighty Boosh' due to their continual referencing of Trash Money’s material on radio shows and in interviews.
