Dntel - Dumb Luck

Dumb Luck by Dntel

3...according to our on Thu 21 Jun, 2007.

Can you believe Dntel have a new CD out on Virgin owned subsidiary Moshi Moshi. I can cos it's here in my hands. I never really got the Postal Service... which I suppose doesn't have much to do with this. Only I never really got Dntel either. I tried but I found it all a bit twee. Some nice bits in it all and he's clearly a talented chappie but this new CD called Dumb Luck is doing the same for me. Tasty bits here and there which make my ears prick up but it's lacking that sexy something. It needs some lard to give it some extra chubb or something. Presumerably I've done a great job of selling to you but if I haven't then if I tell you that the other half of the Postal Service (Jimmy Tamburine), Grizzly Bear, Fog, Lali Puna, Rilo Kiley, Conor (cocking) Oberst, Mia Doi Todd, Mystic Chords of Memory etc are all on there. He's like the twee electronic indie UNKLE...

Thirteen years after starting to work under the Dntel moniker and almost six years after releasing his last Dntel CD. Jimmy Tamborello  has painstakingly built and birthed 'Dumb Luck', an album five years in the making. Thick with Tamborello's signature electronic washed and genius beat placement. ' With vocal contributions from friends Jenny Lewis (Rilo Kiley), Edward Droste (Grizzly Bear), Valerie Trebeljahr and Markus Acher (Lali Puna), Andrew Broder (Fog), Conor Oberst (bright Eyes) and Christopher and Jennifer Gunst (Mystic Chords of Memoir).
