The Sessions have a 7" out on Poptones called What Is This Feeling. Musically it's somewhere in between Kula Shaker, Reef & Jamiroquai. 3 great acts of yesteryear which is obviously a great thing to emulate in this day and age. Brought to you by those folks with their fingers on the pulse... yep Poptones..... (it also sounds like it should have been out on Acid Jazz about 15 years ago). After several formative years of playing together, The Sessions prepare to release their debut single ‘What Is This Feeling’. Having built a name for themselves on the London indie circuit, frequenting popular nights such as Death Disco and The Queen Is Dead, The Sessions have built a loyal and passionate following and a fan in former Creation Records boss Alan McGee, who has labelled them as his band to watch in 2007.Influences such as Curtis Mayfield and The Meters give the band’s authentic indie-rock a Northern Soul twist with discernible elements of psychedelic soul and disco mixed in. A sound reminiscent to the works of The Stone Roses and Primal Scream, ‘What Is This Feeling’ is a solid track that is already on heavy rotation in influential clubs across the Big Smoke. All formats feature the fantastic Blood Sweat & Beers Remix by Cherrystones, which gives an added musical dimension to the band’s sound. The vinyl 7” is a limited run of only 500 and the second digital bundle features the exclusive track ‘So Wanna Go’.
