Following on from the dark, gothic leanings of debut single ‘Shining Bright Star’, Black Strobe return with the second single to be taken from their forthcoming album ‘Burn Your Own Church’. Again produced by Paul Epworth (Bloc Party) and mixed by Alan Moulder (Nine Inch Nails/Marilyn Manson) ‘I’m A Man’, a cover of the Bo Diddley classic, has been re-worked form a bluesy country rocker in to a heavy, high-octane, electronic rockabilly masterpiece, with Arnaud taking on lead vocal duties. As with the ‘Shining Bright Star’ EP, ‘I’m A Man’ comes backed with a host of remixes, including one from Detroit’s prodigious techno connoisseur Audion who also recently curated a mix CD for the Fabric series. Black Strobe also held a competition on their website whereby a fan could remix one of Black Strobe’s songs. The winner’s remix, ‘Shining Bright Star’ (Sad Version by K37!) is also included as one of the remixes.
