Again & Again/ Do You Know The Way To San Jose by The Bird & The Bee

The Bird &The Bee:"Again and Again" (Regal) Amazingly upbeat sing-along falsetto led summertime pop that's so sweet it's killing it with marshmellow softness, it's got handclaps (anything with handclaps does it for me) and a very percussive backbeat. Almost like my dream beach hut in Bahia. This is really good, so infectious it's like making love over and over again and still wanting more. Oh alright, maybe not that orgasmic but enough for us to play it again and again hahaha!. The sort of pop music that should be blasting out of the radio. Hints of Tropicalia-fuzzy guitars and dansette destroying playabilty. Bonus on the flip is version a live version of "The Way To San Jose".

The Bird and The Bee are Greg Kurstin (produced Lily Allen/ All Saints) and Inara George. They discovered a common love of jazz standards and then nerded out for a while playing every song they knew. They then wrote and recorded a record together – the result being an album packed full of melodic laid-back, sassy jazz influenced grooves. The first single from the album was “F*cking Boyfriend”, a slice of infectious pure pop perfection, which was released on the Regal Singles Club label to raise awareness of the band.
The second single to be released from the album is “Again & Again”, which is backed with a live version and cover of “Do You Know The Way To San Jose?”

Fabulous voice...loved the happy intro. Gonna purchase a CD straight away! I've told the folks at the office about it too...
