A breath of fresh air into a stale hardcore scene, Abandon Ship is a song all about a ship sinking while trying to get the message to your loved one that you love them, all set to urgent music as guitars and drums clatter against one another with an incomprehensible voice schreeches about 'the ship has hit the rocks again/no one here can f**king swim.

Beautiful

OVERVIEW: ‘Abandon Ship’ is released June 4th as a physical and download release through Black Envelope Records. The assent of Gallows has been both rapid and explosive. Formed in Watford in early 2005, the quintet’s members cut their teeth playing in various lauded local punk/hardcore bands before coming together to create what Kerrang! have called ‘the future of punk rock’. With a live performance that, in terms of sheer energy and passion, out-strips any band you care to mention, the band - Frank Carter (vocals), Steph Carter (guitars/vocals), Laurent Barnard (guitars/keys/vocals), Stuart Gili-Ross (bass) and Lee Barratt (drums) - quickly built up a reputation as an incredible live act. By the close of 2006 Gallows were the most talked about band of the UK underground. The band signed to In At The Deep Records and recorded their debut album ‘Orchestra Of Wolves’. Released in September 2006 this fraught collection snow-balled as word on the record spread through the underground and into the national press and radio. Accolades followed from the likes of NME, Kerrang, Rock Sound and Metal Hammer and much airplay from the Radio 1 Rock Show and Punk Show and the XFM Rock Show. As a DIY hardcore band, it was an interesting juxtaposition. But with their feet in the underground and their eyes looking towards bigger things Gallows proved themselves more than ready to make that leap. Others agreed and in January 2007 they became the smallest UK band to grace the cover of Kerrang! in many years. Following a now legendary UK headline tour in March that climaxed with a night of sheer chaos at the 100 Club, Gallows inked a deal for their own Black Envelope Records through Warner Bros Records.
