The lure of Economy Wolf has to be the fact there's a slightly hairy naked man in his underpants on the cover, arms out stretched clearly asking why? Why indeed. You should never judge a book by it's cover though as the music on offer is more like My Bloody Valentine, Swervedriver, ie the rockier end of shoegazing. It's good as well. The flipside has Findlay Brown covering the same tune. The Theme For Yellow Kudra is 7" only on Trial & Error (Simian's label!)

Economy Wolf's "Theme For Yellow Kudra" is the first of a series of single releases announcing the release of a compilation CD of unsigned bands who came to play at the legendary Trial & Error Sessions, the well-established night put on by Trial And Error Recordings, Simian's own label.Label created by ex-Simian members and friends for their new projects.Released a bunch of records with great critical acclaim, with James Ford on the production chair.Set up a successful alt-indie in London, which welcome various acts including the Absentee, Toolshed, the Ralfe Band, Mr. David Viner, the High Wire, Findlay Brown, Alberta Cross, the Rakes, Lucky Soul etc... Economy Wolf previously released records as 'Lions And Tigers' on Trial & Error Recordings and Fire Records with great critical acclaim.The B side features a cover version of the A side by the folk sensation of this season Findlay Brown, who just released a successful album on Peacefrog records.
