What the label says:

“A Brooklyn band rooted in the shifting noise landscapes of peers like Gang Gang Dance and Excepter, Telepathe bring producers like Timbaland, Diplo and Spank Rock into the equation... Telepathe’s music is unmistakeable.” – Spin.com. Telepathe are a fluid and process-orientated band that ebb and flow through various genres of music all the while creating their own mysterious sound. Led by Busy Ganges and Melissa Lavaudais, with an ever-rotating personnel, the group take their eerie textural music and interweave into it a rhythmic pattern that pulls the listener in. Sinister Militia is Telepathe’s second release on The Social Registry, following on from last year’s Farewell Forest CD EP, and it shows the band developing their sound further. It is comprised of two new tracks, Sinister
Militia and Islands, along with a remix of each. Telepathe blur genres as they apply their experience in punk rock/hard core bands to the dance music algorithm. The two remixes on Sinister Militia are executed by friends and admirers of Telepathe and help bring that element to light. Tyler Pope of !!! remixed Sinister Militia and sends the track to the dancefloor, overdubbing additional percussion to create a tribal poly-rhymthic mind bender. Islands (Soft Pink Truth remix) is by Drew Daniel of Matmos. Accentuating the rock instrumentation and electronic music elements of the recordings, he pushes the guitars to the front of the room and reorients the rhythmic elements with jumpcut percision. Their album is in its finishing stages and is being mixed by Spank Rock’s Alex XXXChange

About the humble 12":

The 12" is the big brother of records as it's an fatter version of the 7", with a vast scope for an array of remixes and B sides. They are slightly less portable their smaller inched brethren but they're by no means inferior. Often the grooves are spaced wider apart and thus sound much much better. You can fit ample tracks on and if worse comes to worse they make fine plates (should your crockery go awol). Yes, there's a hole but holes are easy to sort out. Once again they're available on many different colours and guises. The best thing about a 12" is the potential vastness of the artwork. Also playable on many speeds!!
