Whilst you may be forgiven that thinking this band are named after a breath freshener from the 1970’s you’d be very wrong, but they are named after a soft drink from India from around the same period. LA- based Goldpsot are the brainchild of songwriter Siddhartha Khosla. Originally championed by influential LA DJ Nic Harcourt, Goldspot's album Tally Of The Yes Men gets its UK release on June11th on the revamped Fontana Records.
Having already supported Travis in the USA the band come over to the UK in June for a plethora of support dates with MuteMath amongst others & a few NME shows to boot, all culminating in a slot at Glastonbury in the Q Tent!
The tracks “Its Getting Old” was iTunes single of the week and turned into the second biggest one ever (beaten only by Justin trousersnake). Other stand out tracks on the album are future singles “Rewind” & “Friday” which is the first single proper blending a subtle range of sounds from Bollywood to REM to The Smiths, this is quality alt-pop and Khosla's beautiful vocal raises it to another level…. With Q Magazine already touting them and the Sunday Times Culture calling them “Americas Best New band” you’d have to be a yes man to not be interested….
