Die! Die! Die!/ H.D.U. - Blue Skies/ Stupormodel

Blue Skies/ Stupormodel by Die! Die! Die!/ H.D.U.

4...according to our on Fri 01 Jun, 2007.

Here's a 7" of New Zealand bands. Die Die Die split with High Dependency Unit (or HDU as some call 'em). HDU side got banged on first and it's nice rawkous rock which reminds me of some of the latter Amphetamine Reptile fodder. ie well scuzzy rock. Maybe a bit Helios Creed. The Die Die Die side is possibly more commercial and more to a lot of our customers tastes with it being more mathsy/ indie rock ala the Unlabel side of things. It's kind of weird though so don't expect to sing along but it is most good!!

TWO OF NEW ZEALAND’S MOST FASCINATING BANDS CAME TO PRODUCE TWO POWERFUL, ORIGINAL RECORDINGS AND COMBINED THEM ON THIS LIMITED EDITION 7“ VINYL. HIGH DEPENDENCY UNIT ARE A TRIO WELL KNOWN FOR THEIR ABILITY TO CREATE DENSE WALLS OF CATHARTIC NOISE AS WELL AS ENGAGINGLY SPARSE BEAUTY. THE FLYING NUN ALUMNI TOOK FANS BY SURPRISE LAST YEAR WHEN THEY BROKE A RECORDING SILENCE OF FIVE YEARS AND RELEASED THEIR FIRST SELF-RECORDED AND METICULOUSLY SELF-PRODUCED SINGLE FROM THEIR OWN FURTHERIST LABEL, TUNGUSKA - AN EPIC, PSYCHEDELIC SOUNDTRACK. FELLOW NATIVES OF DUNEDIN (BAR ONE), PUNK 3-PIECE DIE!DIE!DIE! ARE HUGE FANS OF HDU WITH WHOM THEY’VE PLAYED NUMEROUS SHOWS HERE AND IN AUSTRALIA. THEIR CONTRIBUTION, BLUE SKIES, IS AS CLOSE AS THE BAND HAVE GOTTEN TO CAPTURING THE SONIC INVASION THAT IS DIE!DIE!DIE! LIVE, ALL BRITTLE VOCALS, QUEER AD LIBS, ROLLING THUNDER AND FLAILING LIMBS. AFTER HITTING EVERY CHART GOING IN 2006 WITH THEIR SINGLE, 155, FROM THE LOCUST WEEKS EP, THE BOYS ARE BACK ON THEIR CAMPAIGN TO CONQUER LIVE VENUES WORLD-WIDE.
