Barry the bass worshiping barnacle says that Matty G is a name that's been on everyone in the dubstep community's lips and its clear to see why. Since he unofficially dropped the already underground classic WAR001 white label there's been a massive degree of anticipation for his third outing on the Argon imprint. '50,000 watts' is a corker. His production is clean and precise with all the elements you want from a big dubstep monster. The pitched down vocal sample and occasional bass drops weave their way around big crashes and cowbells. Even my arch enemy Terry the sea anemone would be busting mollusc moves to this. He's gonna have to stay on his rock though as it's a strictly mollusc dress code. If you aint wearing a shell then you not comin' in. Loefah takes the controls adding his trademark techy element into the mix that will blast old Terry out of his manky seaweed covered rock pool and out into the ocean where Trev the tiger shark will pick him up and stick him in one of his speciality anemone and limpet vol-au-vent to serve up at his baskin shark bass bash. If you're going then best keep away from ernie the electric eel. He's shocking when he's got a drink in him....The biggest tune at the last DMZ, receiving numerous plays straight from dubplate, Matty G's original has become the stuff of recent legend, with Loefah caning it so hard, any other remixer would be simply unimaginable. With its Park Side Killers schooly d influenced drums, 50000 watts builds on the architecture of a straight soundbwoy tune and looks set to become the definitve dubstep anthem of summer 2007.
