What the label says:

On the Scottish Gargleblast label, run by producer Andy Miller (Mogwai, Arab Strap, Fratellis etc.). 'Live At The Annandale Hotel' is a live set recorded in Sydney Australia, during Life Without Buildings' 2002 tour. LWB tragically split up soon after the tour, leaving as their legacy only one stunning album on the Rough Trade subsidiary Tugboat Records. Life Without Buildings drew influences from Talking Heads and other proto- and post-punk bands like Television, ESG, and early PiL, featuring jerky/martial rhythms, sparse instrumentation, and sung/spoken vocals. The critically acclaimed 'Any Other City' album has now achieved cult status five years after its release, gaining praise from current acts such as Maximo Park amongst others. Eagerly awaited by LWB fans, this live album, mastered from an incendiary performance at Sydney's famous venue, is a hugely important document of a band whose sound, although impossible to imitate, has influenced so much of today's cutting edge music

About the humble CD:

The CD is essentially a small portable face mirror which has an extra feature of being able to play music (through a thing known as a CD player). These CD's are a modern invention hence them being all shiny and digital. They can hold about 80 minutes of music and apparently are indestructible as you can smear jam on them and they still play (not as nourishing as toast mind you but when you're hungry.....). They sound crystal clear and are tiny convenient things. They lack the charm and warmth of their old analogue counterparts but their portability, convenience and ease of being duplicated make them a perfect thing of a thing for most folks. Jewel cases are the worst thing ever though and they really need to stop.

'Why would I want to go and see a film about an Ewok and a dinosaur?'
