Envelopes are back with a new album... Well not quite yet but in the meantime here's a new 7" single called Smoke In The Desert Eating The Sand, Hide In The Grass. It's pretty limited so we don't have too many. Be quick if you want one. It sounds exactly like early Talking Heads, and when I say exactly mean EXACTLY. Seriously! Mind you that's no band thing cos they're a great band to sound like and there's not as many Talking Heads copyists as perhaps there should be. Tremendous fun.

Envelopes are a five piece from Stockholm, Malmo and Paris, brought together by a shared love of skewed, lo-fi pop. Sounding like all your favourite bands put together, Envelopes also sound utterly unique, and like no one but themselves.   Announcing their arrival ‘Smoke In The Desert…’ combines the driving bass and irresistible groove of Talking Heads and B52s with the contemporary spirit of Arcade Fire. ‘Party’ meanwhile demonstrates their knack for writing immediately arresting, leftfield pop, with Henrik and Audrey sharing vocal duties to brilliant effect, before lurching into a Pixies-esque break down.
