Polytechnic - Down Til Dawn

Down Til Dawn by Polytechnic

4...according to our on Thu 26 Apr, 2007.

MOGGIE here basking in the suntrap listening to lead singer Dylan (not unlike his name sake Bob Dylan) on vocals from Manchester pop combo Polytechnic. I really love their singles this lot. Wont You Come Around Around (track 2) is one of my favourite pop songs of the year, and here they are with a full length album called Down Til Dawn. They sometimes sound like Bowie, The Thrills, The Charlatans but most of all they sound like a comfortable band knocking out some great pop summer tunes. They got an original sound and at times their songs do blend into each other but god dammit they are their songs.. at least they're ripping themselves off... yeh great pop/rock/indie to celebrate 2007 with. The final track Running Out Of Ideas shows a delicate side to the Manc boys with full orchestra accompaniment swooping in. On Shatterproof records and its good ya.

Fresh from their arena tour with Keane, Polytechnic are back with their highly anticipated debut album ‘Down Til Dawn’.  ·Polytechnic’s last two singles gained rave reviews including Single Of The Week in NME and The Sun.  ·The album ‘Down Til Dawn’ features live favourite ‘Running Out Of Ideas’ along with previous singles ‘Pep’, ‘Won’t You Come Around’, ‘Cold Hearted Business’ and ‘Man Overboard’.·“The world at large is going to be very excited about Polytechnic’s album” – NME.
