Now BRINKMAN with I wish. After a single on Label Fandango they're signed to EMI, made them resurrect the His Masters Voice label and cobbled together some guitar pop songs. Very traditional sounding English brit pop from the Blur, Travis Kinks camp. Not demanding in anyway and as a result a bit throwaway but with today's consumerist society they might be a snack for the masses. Zane Low gave it the "hottest song in the world" but he knows shit.LIMITED TO 1000 UNITS ON EACH FORMAT
Brinkmans first release in 2006, ‘Kirsten Dunst’, was a critically acclaimed debut and limited edition release on Club Fandango. In addition to scooping up some fine reviews, the song found its way to the lady herself, who much to the band’s delight, declared herself to be “extremely flattered”.
Fast forward to Spring 2007 and with an appearance at the NME Awards shows already under their belts, Brinkman are about to head out on UK dates with both Captain and Travis. The Travis dates have come by way of special invitation from Fran Healy and Brinkman will also be joining Travis for their UK tour in May.
'I Wish' is a typically hook laden Brinkman-esque tale of misspent single life with self deprecating humour and catchy rhythm section stomps, perfectly condensed in the single’s three minutes of indie-pop hookery.
Proving themselves just as adept at another creative medium, Brinkman scripted, directed and filmed the video for the single too, depicting Paul Cook’s escape through a bedroom window and his subsequent bicycle getaway through the streets of London, and created for a total budget of £36.70!

This is a classic pop tune with great melodies and vocals...exactly what is needed! Haven't we all had enough of the wailing guitar headbanging records the are so 'cool' ? ...mark my words he is the new Jeff Lynn of this decade and I'm sure this lot will sell as many records!
