The debut album by Fury of the Headteachers fulfils every bit of promise shown by the band following the critically acclaimed singles “Fables” and “Farewell Comrade”. 11 tracks make up “You Took A Scythe Home” which whittles by in just over half an hour demonstrating the Fury’s bold and brazen style. New songs such as “52 in 1” and “Replicas” are delivered in an inventive and ingenious manner that clearly defines Fury of the Headteachers from their contemporaries. Recent single “Not What It Used To be” - which preceded the album release - is a perfect teaser track. It’s a concoction of sharp guitar riffs, a pulsating bass line, some squeaky keys, pounding drums all with the trademark grating vocal and a babble of lyrics over the top. Of the new tracks, “Optimism” and “Right is Right is Right” are stand outs with re-workings of the singles are also set to please fans old and new alike. The album will be released on the 7th May on CD and digital download. The CD will be distributed throughout Europe by Cargo and will be simultaneously released through Vinyl Junkie Recordings in Japan. Fury of the Headteachers will play a number of UK dates in and around the release before touring Germany.
