OVERVIEW: The WOMBATS will release their new single 'Backfire At The Disco' on 9th April through KIDS. A new recording of the live favourite, the track was produced by Jimmy Robertson (Klaxons) and mixed by Steve Harris (Kaiser Chiefs). With an effervescence that belies its subject matter of a disastrous date, the track is a dangerously catchy hi-octane blast of scuzzy indie pop, which exemplifies why The Wombats have stealthily become the biggest unsigned band in the UK. In their native Liverpool, they were recently the first unsigned band ever to headline, and sell-out, the 1200-capacity Academy 1.
