Con Brio/ Viva Stereo - Split

Split by Con Brio/ Viva Stereo

4...according to our on Fri 30 Mar, 2007.

VIVA STEREO: "Alpha State" / CON BRIO: "Indiana Bloom", Third missive on this split 10" series with accompanying cd release on Fence records offshoot De-Fence. Viva Stereo's contribution is a slice of electronic pop with vocals put through some sort of vocodered effect, if anyone said the word "pumping" would you know what they meant? Some people would maybe even say driven by a "driving beat", needless to say, the beats are electronic. Both are similar to the German electronic-pop of Monika, Morr Music or C.C.O. Con Brio's two tracks comprises an instrumental beat workout with plenty of digital signal processing and bright warm pads that should be famaliar to fans of all types of Cribtronica (or bedroom electronica if you please!), t'other is a more organic-synthetic combination with guitar strum held down with skipping percussion.

Con Brio

Con Brio (Dave Millar) makes lush, beautifully programmed electronic music. Over the past four years he has toured the country as part of the Kraked Soundsystem playing shows along side the likes of Luke Vibert, Plaid, Venetian Snares, Exile, Team Doyobi and µ-ZIQ.

With a mixture of sounds and textures fast and slow, Con Brio is pure electronica - a sound that glitches through heavenly glances of beauty then yanks you back to reality with cut-up beats dirty enough to make a hammer bleed.

Tracks have appeared on Kraked's own record label, Spunktronics, Broken Fader Cartel as well as Adverse Camber's "Wreckage" compilation.

Viva Stereo

Viva Stereo formed from the ashes of a guitar band in 2001 with the view to making music that would encompass a full weekends ebbs and flows.

Saturday nights are important to Viva Stereo but with it comes the Sunday morning soul searching and the combination of these are what give the 'stereo' sound its dark edges.

Viva Stereo joined the Fence roster back in 2004 and have released two albums, four EP's and a rarities compilation.
