Kid606's Shockout returns, this time it's the excellent Ninjaman on toastin' dutes (I'll have peanut butter on mine). The rhythms on Weed Wid Da Macka' are provided by Modeselektor and Knifehandchop. Mr chop is at his most restrained delivering a bleepy dancehall track with driving rhythm and suitably deep bottom end bass rumblings. Modeselektor have opted to process the MC's vocal which is a shame. What I like about the Shockout stuff is the MC's, the music is more often than not fairly average. You get the usual instrumental versions.... mmmmmm peanut butter. The extra crunchy one rocks.Three True Innovators bring this International Soundclash of epic proportions! Ninjaman the Seminal Dancehall MC and self professed "War God" known for big hits like "Murder Dem" and "My Weapon" as well as working with No Doubt on there hit "hit baby", gets the glitchy IDM Dancehall Dub treatmeant from German Electronica heavyweights Modeselektor (Bpitchcontrol) and the all out ragga-booty-gabber assault from Knifehandchop (Tigerbeat6) Modeselektor , Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary, formed in Berlin while Szary was performing live acid house music at illegal underground parties. In 2000, Modeselektor met with Ellen Allien of BPitch Control, becoming their home label. Modeselektor has done remixes for Miss Kittin, and Paul Kalkbrenner, while Collaborating with TTC, Apparat, Pfadfinderei, Team Shadetek, Sasha Perera, and Paul St. Hillaire. They get along great with Canada's Knifehandchop, who has done countless Remixes, radio sessions for John Peel and Breezeblock and probably released something on every hardcore and breakcore label around.
