JUNIOR BOYS: "The Dead Horse" EP. This includes remixes by legendary techno DJ/Producer Carl Craig and Kode9's relick featuring The Spaceape. Suppose you so-called 'cool' trendy kids don't need the likes of me telling you what to expect from these re-versions. I apologies for not being familiar with the originals, but at least the vocals are still intact for the CC mix powered along with finger snaps and some bumping bass thumps and classic Detroitian keyboard lines. The flip is Kode9's trademark cousin of Jungle D 'n'B type bass driven skank. Sans original vocal!
Having torn up the rule-book with the robotic, hypnotic blue eyed soul meets R&B of their critically acclaimed debut ‘Last Exit’, Junior Boys’ Jeremy Greenspan and Matt Didemus returned with their new album ‘So This is Goodbye’, which indicated something of the scale of Junior Boys' pop ambitions, best seen as the pioneering of a New MOR rather than another attempt at New Pop. ‘The Dead Horse’ EPs contain remixes of ‘So this Is Goodbye’ key tracks that pull Junior Boys’ music back out to the margins of its territory. It’s a very varied package of very different influences which will delight all fans of electronic music. Never have songs been more volatile. The two 12”s are highly desirable as they are limited to 500 copies each. The singles will be packaged in white disco bags stickered with a full colour processed design and will be stamped in the style of white labels, which will appeal to all DJs.
