Late Of The Pier - Space And The Woods

Space And The Woods by Late Of The Pier

Flying out the towers faster than a merry band of house proud mice we have LATE OF THE PIER with Space And The Woods. Instantly I think this is Bad in a bad way. But its heavy sales make me persevere. Marc Bolan and Gary Newman are prevalent in the airwaves. This is sweaty pissed indie club music with a catchy bobbing chorus. In fact close my eyes and I can almost see the steaming mass of young nubile bodies writhing around to the attitude and swagger of "the pier"... phew I feel a bit hot and bothered. So yeah catchy catchy, but like Cinderella once the night is over (and the beer head fades) the magic might diminish with it..... on Way Out West.

The second release on Way Out West Records is from hotly-tipped, Castle Donnington-based Late of the Pier. The band consists of Sam (vocals, guitar), Ross (drums, percussion), Faley (bass) and Potter (synths, sampler). They formed somewhere in the mists of 2005, inspired by underage trips to Nottingham’s Liars Club where all four band members would often be found on the dance-floor.

Described as an electro/rock band from the East Midlands, their main success has been throughout London and the new clubs and scenes in the area. They have been met with considerable interest, especially in the recent New Rave genre. Late of the Pier have played a considerable amount at the Way out West club nights, which are becoming increasingly well known throughout London. Late of the Pier are considered one of the big four on Way out West, alongside Fear of Flying, Cajun Dance Party and The Video Nasties.

Get this before it sells out! Bloody great track, and b-side, all nice'n'rerecorded! Better than the demos I reckon! Can't wait to see further releases from Late Of The Pier!
