Marquis Cha Cha jumping on the folk bandwagon shouts Flip as I put on the new single by ELECTRIC SPOON. Nice simple plucking guitar with gentle voice following the guitar line. It Sounds like a badly recorded Nick Drake which gives it a timeless feel and. Yeh really drifty and lovely voice...a simple pie. Like a cream scone rather then a lemon meringue. A bit Jose Gonzales..Welcome to the world of Electric Spoon - a tale of three castaways, hair and all colours standing on the edge of sound looking at each other starting a search for all their electric sisters and brothers.
The journey begins at Marquis Cha Cha with ‘You’ - a sound for hearts and minds, part of the earth's rhythm, their peace of mind rests in sound, colours are their stepping stones – a home for hearts and minds.
Electric Spoon will be in live with John Kennedy on XFM on Wed 7th March and doing an in-store at Pure Groove records on Thursday 8th. The band will also be appearing live in London over March at The Macbeth, The Pleasure Unit, Buffalo Bar, Purple Turtle, Lark in the Park, The Pleasure Unit and the Frog.
The sound here is very akin to an Alan Lomax field recording of The Rolling Stones - circa Sticky Fingers.
