The Young Republic - Blue Skies/ Small Town In A World War

Blue Skies/ Small Town In A World War by The Young Republic

And finally from mere here's a single by Young Republic called Blue Skies which sounds rather lovely. It starts off all orchestral and reminds me of Polyphonic Spree for a mo.... Then it all goes all proper serious indie with strings flailing around everywhere over a right proper tune. On 2nd listen it starts to make sense and prove itself to be a reasonably infectious debut single. Somewhere in between Arcade Fire and Belle & Sebastian I reckon!! I expect these mommas to fly out.... Hand numbered

Sounds exactly like the Thrills doing a cover of The Shins 'New Slang' - you decide whether that's good or bad. I'm simply unmoved.
