Hello and welcome to my week's round up which includes a new 7" single from THE FILMS: "Black Shoes", in which the very west coast (America) and North-west coast (Scouse-think The Coral) sounding vocal harmonies and strident traditional rock approach reminds the other occupants of Norman Towers of the other Monkey's (Arctic not Monkees). The title makes me wonder why girls only dress to impress each other whilst boys only dress for functionality, that said "Black Shoes" summons up the vibe of classic pop written without fuss or pretention.
