Consequences - Parasite

Parasite by Consequences

CONSEQUENCES: "Parasite" 7", as I'm not a journo I can be lazy as I have to be quick. Thoughts of Simple Minds meets REM on this piano led song of yearning. A slowed down Scandinavian version of Placebo or My Morning Jacket in a trans-atlantic howl a la Mike Scott says my fellow clerk.

‘Parasite’ is released in March through Wi45 records, and it is backed with the B side ‘Maybe I Was Wrong’. Both these pop gems are available on 1000 limited edition 7”s and digital download. The best kept of Stockholm’s pop scene secrets emerged from the confines of a tiny wardrobe-sized studio run by bass player / songwriter Mattias Areskog. It was here that over 200 songs were written and, over time, the decision made to create Consequences. The debut album has been produced by Ronald Bood (Mando Diao, Shout Out Louds) has been embraced by the Swedish press as one of the albums of the year and while the Arcade Fire / Flaming Lips comparisons fly around it’s advisable to make your own mind up by experiencing the full brazen grandeur of this UK debut single in all its glory.
