OVERVIEW: The Pierces are Alabama-raised, New York based weird sisters Allison and Catharine who brew a ‘witchy mix of American deep south roots, cabaret, gypsy voodoo flavours into their music and lyrics’ as attested by UNCUT. With a flying visit to the UK in February to promote the album and a headline tour in April/May, (after having debuted in the UK supporting Albert Hammond Jnr sold out tour end of 2006). The Pierces are releasing their debut album ‘Thirteen Tales of Love and Revenge’. This follows on from the ltd ed release of ‘Sticks and Stones’ 7" single on 5th March. ‘The Power Of…’ will be the second single from the LP set for release 23rd April to coincide with band’s headline UK tour. Their Myspace page has tripled its hits after ‘Boring’ featured on WORD Magazine’s cover mount issue out early January. Expect to hear a lot of The Pierces this year…….
