The Finches - Human Like A House

Human Like A House by The Finches

Here is a lovely folk duo called THE FINCHES with their debut album on Dulc-i-Tone. The Finches self-released CD EP sold over 1200 copies without any distribution and they've performed with many of their peers including Jose Gonzalez, Mt. Eerie, The Evens, Magnolia Electric Co., and Michael Hurley. Plucked acoustic dueting guitars sit under a lovely lilting female voice with occasional back up from the a gentle male voice. She sounds like a softer less abrasive Laura Veirs and her sweet softness is calming and therapeutic. The songs rely on traditional folk hooks but with a plenty of imagination and soul. After 12 songs you're a bit tuned in to her voice and ready for a break which isn't helped by the similar musical arrangement throughout. However it's still a lovely album to steer us through the darkest hours. Monkey Swallows the Universe says Phil. It's from San Francisco and its full of setting sun. xx

TOGETHER WITH GUITARIST AARON MORGAN (ROOTS OF ORCHIS), THE FINCHES’ MUSICAL STORYTELLING ATTRACTS FANS BOTH NEAR AND FAR. GUEST ALISSA ANDERSON OF VETIVER PLAYS CELLO ON THE SONG “TWO GHOSTS,“
