Yep BRETT ANDERSON is back with a new single on Drowned In Sound. For some reason I leapt to here this. A far cry from the older times of Norman when I refused to stock records by Suede on the simple premise I thought they were shit. I still do but I'm older, much more bitter and more articulate than I was back then. Anyway we happily now stock records by Suede and Brett and anyone else who cocking sells (indie morals are all fine and all but we can't support up and coming new music unless we can afford to pay our bills!). Anyway Brett... new single.... about as slushy as you can get. Makes me want to go out and get a blue Mr Slushy and flash my blue tongue off. Strings, piano and more cheese than you can squeeze into a pop record. It's all very serious and very moving I'm sure. There's a cracking pic of brett on the cover doing a right proper pose. He's clearly very proud of his physique. I won't admit to being jealous at all mind you as my pie ridden body is a masterpiece of the human form. Really. Schmaltzy is the word I'm offering you. Love Is Dead is on 2 x CD and 7".‘Love Is Dead’ on Drowned in Sound is the highly anticipated debut release from one of the most significant UK songwriters of the past 15 years. The man behind the voice that formed a cornerstone of Britpop in the 1990s, Brett Anderson’s solo effort opens a new chapter in his illustrious career. Written and co-produced by Brett with Fred Ball, the new single is a dynamic, passionate and personal song, which perfectly reflects the tone of the album. The impressive new video was directed by Russell Thomas, whose previous credits include Placebo, Coldplay and Sarah McLachlan.
