Erase Errata - Live At Crystal Palace

Live At Crystal Palace by Erase Errata

Erase Errata, the latest signings to Blast First are set to release their first, eagerly awaited album for the label on 15th September 2003. "At Crystal Palace" is the follow up to 2001's "Other Animals", which will be re-issued on Blast First on the same day.

Formed in 1999, when bassist Ellie Erickson and guitarist Sara Jaffe moved to the Bay Area (California) and were introduced, by mutual friends to drummer Bianca Sparta and vocalist/trumpeter Jenny Hoyston, Erase Errata were borne of a frustration with the mainstream but more importantly, of a love of music and of having fun.

At Crystal Palace, the band's second album and their first for Blast First, sees the band drawing on a history of alternate musics - post-punk, no-wave, riot grrrl, free-jazz - to cast a sound all their own. Jagged dance masterpieces and full-throttle bolts of freak-art groove make up At Crystal Palace. Highlights include 'CA Viewing', with its swirls of guitar, bursts of trumpet and waves of bass-noise; the subterranean paranoia of 'Retreat! The Most Familiar' and the ear-whispering jerk-pop of 'Surprise, It's Easter'. The album is a riot of ideas - restless and begging your full attention, both cerebral and visceral. Ambitious but endlessly accessible.

Unmissable live, Erase Errata have announced six dates for October.
