Fuzz Appearance - Stickleback/ Class Act

Stickleback/ Class Act by Fuzz Appearance

3...according to our on Thu 19 Apr, 2007.

Fuzz Appearance: "Stickleback" is a sing-a-long ditti in a barrowboy drawl and strum. Lo-fi aesthetics in presentation (sleeve), delivery (sing-talk) and all round style. Suppose that's the charm of 7" cottage industries.

Fuzz Appearance are a young Brighton/Worthing based band who’ve been together for just under a year. They are heavily influenced by old indie bands such as The Smiths & The Cure, plus new bands such as Larrikin Love and fellow Brighton locals The Maccabees. This, their debut release is a limited run of 300 copies on Brighton’s hip hop beats label Summerisle Township. They are the label’s token indie band. As they are all under 18, 20 out of their last 24 gigs have been cancelled due to them being underage and not allowed to play. Despite hampering their progress somewhat, the band have picked up many local plaudits from local promoters due their short raucous live sets. The band have just gained their first review in The Fly here in the UK, while the single has gained considerable radio play on small underground USA radio stations and 2 in France. The band have not gained any radio play in the UK after all the label’s promotional material disappeared in the post!! Promotional work in the UK is now being carried out for a second time with thousands of badges being sent to record shops over the next couple of weeks! The Fuzzies will be touring later in the year when their second single drops, school has finished and they are all old enough to play. They have just recorded the demos for their 2nd single due out on Summerisle Township in May.
