TRACKLISTING: A) Not A Problem, AA) Dirty Hands,
OVERVIEW: This is both the first release for Vice and Black Lips in the UK. To mark the fact this is a special limited edition double-a-side single featuring ‘Not A Problem’ & ‘Dirty Hands’ available on 7" (1000 only) and download. Based in Atlanta, Georgia, Black Lips formed when they were fifteen years old and have spent the last few years touring the world, booking themselves and playing for scraps at underground parties and outlaw festivals. Their UK debut single captures perfectly the sound and attitude of their self coined ‘flower punk’ and recalls Nuggets faves The Seeds and The 13th Floor Elevators. Vice Magazine, started in Montreal in 1994, expanded from a magazine into a record label in the U.S. when it released the first album by The Streets followed by Bloc Party, Death From Above 1979 and The Stills. In addition to musical pursuits came a TV company headed up by director Spike Jonze with over 30 shows currently in production and a film company with projects currently underway. Presently, Vice has offices in New York, London, Berlin, Milan, Amsterdam, Antwerp, Copenhagen, Tokyo, Stockholm, Melbourne, Auckland, Toronto, Montreal and soon, Moscow. The record label in the U.S distributed by Atlantic Recordings and is run by Suroosh himself, Adam Shore and a gang of dedicated kids that use a fast, DIY grass-roots approach to plugging the records. March 2007 sees the launch of Vice Music UK with this – the debut UK release by the Black Lips.
