Air - Pocket Symphony

Pocket Symphony by Air

4...according to our on Thu 08 Mar, 2007.

Now French so and so's AIR with their new coffee table album. I've always thought these lot were for women on their difficult days of the month with its sensitive and soothing understanding .Their debut album Moon Safari got so over played it was melted my ears to a slushy mush. Here they play with equal accuracy and programming wizardy this time with guest appearance from Norman favourite JARVIS COCKER and that other runt NEIL HANNON... (only joking I love Father Ted). In fact Jarvis breaks up the perfection that Air strive for making it less like music for an elevator. Generally the tunes are too "perfect" for me though the production is quite amazing. It's a bit like still water which can be refreshing at first but once warm becomes dull and tasting a bit like soil. You know just writing this it actually hooked me in then with some really nice moments. Maybe this is a grower and whilst it ain't very cool it could be one to put one when no-one else is around and drink coffee to... around your coffee table... naked ....??? In fact all the office are liking it really.. A natural successor the other French synth fan "John Michelle Jar ".

This new album follows 2004's "Talkie Walkie" and has been produced by Nigel Godrich.  It features guest vocals by Jarvis Cocker and Neil Hannon (Divine Comedy) and will be supported by TV, radio and press advertising and a full UK tour in March.
