After releasing its debut EP on Gizeh back in 2004, Immune spent 2 years creating a masterpiece of a record that eventually came to light as ‘1/f’ (one over f) in 2006. Immune’s long-awaited debut is quite simply put – a work of art, from the incredible sounds that emanate from the speakers to the striking and quite awe-inspiring artwork by Alex Gilmartin. If ever a statement has been made, a bar raised or a line crossed in making a debut album 1/f has to be up there with the most important of recent years. The scope covered by this record ranges from a political, fearful message to unapproachable human emotions, it leaves you hanging, asking questions, finding answers… most of which only come to light after repeated listens. 3 long years in the making, 1/f was recorded at HD1 studios in Huddersfield by Steve Whitfield and mixed/produced by Steve with the band in late 2005. Vast arrays of instruments were used throughout recording which makes the depth of sound on the record almost peerless. Having played shows with the likes of Pelican, Oceansize and Aereogramme, Immune are turning heads in all directions and the momentum will continue throughout 2007 with shows and tours planned throughout the year. The press reaction to ‘1/f’ has been stunning with the band being compare to the likes of Massive Attack, Tool, Floyd, Brainiac and a host of others. Previously available via Universal. “This could be an introduction to one of the albums of the decade” (Drowned In Sound) 9/10. “There is no doubt for me that this album marks one of the most astonishing achievements of genuinely independent music this year. It really is in a class of its own” (Whisperin n Hollerin) 9/10.
