The Memory Band - Remixes

Remixes by The Memory Band

3...according to our on Thu 26 Apr, 2007.

Peacefrog have got it together to release the Memory Band 7" with the Four Tet and Jon Hopkins mixes on. We presold it ages ago so apologies for those who've been waiting on it. It's here now and it's tracks of folk daubed with electronics. The Four Tet remix is a slow thing and it's it's quite unlike Four Tet if I'm honest. The flipside is a Jon Hopkins (Fence chappie) mix and I prefer that side. The whole thing whiffs a bit of Fence actually so if you're into that gubbins you'll prob want this sucker. Limited to 500 copies with no artwork and pricey as well (for a record with no sleeve...).

Following the Memory Band’s critically acclaimed debut album of beautiful home grown folk, their modern production sensibilities are pushed further from the realms of the old folk standards with remixes of two of the album’s standout tracks by Domino’s "folktronica" wunderkind Kieran Hebden (aka Four Tet) and Brian Eno collaborator John Hopkins.  Four Tet’s special effects treatment takes ‘Come Write Me Down’ into the futue with an avant garde electronic feel sure to appeal to fans of Tuung and alike. Limited to 1000 copies
