When Evolution released the first of its remastered series last year, no-one could have predicted how many vinyl enthusiasts were ready and waiting to own a piece of electronic music history. Released as a 3 part set, fans finally had access to remastered versions of the much sought-after first three Evolution releases. Needless to say, they sold out fast. Conceived in 1991, Evolution was a defining force in the progress of electronic music and can name the likes of Richie Hawtin, Autechre, Carl Craig, Aphex Twin, Mu-ziq, and Dave Clarke among their biggest fans. Evolution was launched at a time when only a few like-minds were releasing this kind of music... labels such as ART, Rephlex, Eevolute, and artists like B12, Aphex Twin, Black Dog and Autechre. Because the original Evolution releases were limited to between 400 & 700 copies, they have since become prized collectors items, often fetching record-breaking prices on ebay. Now fans of these early releases can rediscover their favourite records all over again on updated masters - equal to, if not superior to, much of the music being produced today.Next off the press is one of the label's most popular releases, by Mark Pritchard's Link persona. 4 tracks : 'Augur Intro', 'Animus', 'Amenity', 'Arcadian'.
