KODE9 & THE SPACEAPE's 'Kingstown' has finally been repressed. It's a cracking tune with the Spaceape on top form. If you don't already own this then I urge you to get on it. I'm waiting for 'Spit' to be repressed as that's the only one I don't have. The Burial album is due out on wax too. They held that one back eh!Repress of 2005's anthemic 'Kingstown', on which dread vocalisor Spaceape scratched a bleak dubtronic portrait of Jamaica's capital over a top-ranking Kode9 riddim populated with melancholic synth riffs, delayed tablas, and enough surging sub-bass to sink babylon. “The abject MC sounds like Prince Far I reincarnated for post-punk dub devotees. Dread personified, underpinned by a mesmerically repetitive bass descent, this supremely fresh, superbly executed release is vast sonically and chillingly resonant thematically. Deep.
