Dollar power is an electro nerdcore anthem to sir Clive Sinclair ’s iconic zx spectrum home computer,with its massive 48k of memory.All sounds are created using its most fundamental sound generating processes which involved months of laborious code writing.Vocals are performed by the Currah µSpeech,a basic speech synthesizer built for the spectrum in 1982 and explores the found poetry of basic commands. ‘Dollar Power ’ ::inventive,minimal,low tech,home made ,I movie ‘Look and Listen ’:a 3 minute animation programmed over 3 months in machine code,which takes up an amazingly small 13k of memory –about the size of an email today. What you see is what you hear and vice versa as everything drawn on the screen also produces sound.‘Look and Listen ’,an animation by the ZX Spectrum Orchestra,has been shown as part of the Optronica festival in London,Paris,Cologne,and San Francisco.When not con . ned to the lab,the ZX Spectrum Orchestra have given live performances including Birmingham ’s Supersonic festival,Neen Day in London and at Network, Aalst,Belgium. the single is accompanied by a two track dvd CD - 1 Dolar Power 2 Musx DVD 1 Dollar Power 2 Look and Listen
