AU REVOIR SIMONE have won the award this week for perplexing me beyond words. The vocals are like a straighter take on Cocorosie with the whole feel being somewhere between Pipettes, Broadcast & Mates of State. Delightfully disembodied radio pop with effortless interweaving sing-song vocal harmonies over a jaunty yet sinister backing track that could be a sibling of 'Dear Prudence'. Albeit played by a north pier caberet band who's keyboard player's a creepy library music boffin who keeps his mother in the cellar. Hohoho. Loving this, they sound timeless!First single from Au Revoir Simone's hotly anticipated new album. Limited 7" (600 copies)
