PINK MOUNTAINTOPS have a new 7" single out on Jagjaguwar called Single Life. This is the 1st time I've heard them (I think). It's 2 tracks of fuzzed out Mary Chain/ Primal Scream/ Velvet Underground style fuzz pop which will got girls in polka dot dresses going mental all over the shop.‘Single Life’ is another in a long line of great fuzzed out Velvet-styled gems by Pink Mountaintops, sped up ever so slightly to be in synch with the minds of akathisiacs everywhere. On the reverse side of the single, ‘My Best Friend’ is the more affecting and spiritual of these two tracks - perhaps Pink Mountaintop’s most beautifully crafted song to date.
