The Violets - Foreo

Foreo by The Violets

3...according to our on Thu 15 Feb, 2007.

'Foreo' is the new single from THE VIOLETS, possibly the only current band apart from The Ivories to be digging up the grave of Siouxie & the Banshees. On this new job they bring in a bit of the Long Blondes rousing indie anthem focus but still have stern air-punching chorus's that even Andrew Eldritch would dismiss as a bit 'overplayed'. Not that it's a bad thing to sound like a bunch of goths when everyone's trying to cheer up & forget the world is decaying into dust before us. You heard that 'nu rave' slogan? Well, The Violets bring us Nu Raven. Hahaha! Don't forget the bag of Homepride...7"/CDs on Angular.

The Violets are touring with The Gossip in February, including a sold out NME awards show at the Astoria. ‘Foreo’ is the latest single from The Violets, and is already receiving airplay from 6Music and Xfm. Inspired by the Hitchcock film ’Marnie’, ‘Foreo’ is suffused with a similar sense of thrilling discomfort. Ominously driven verses and triumphant choruses, this song rises and rises with an ever quickening heartbeat. Both formats limited to 500 copies.
