Tigerbeat 6 has spawned yet another off shoot called Tiger Bass. The first release features DROP THE LIME, PARTY CRASHERS UNITE, KID 606 and MATH HEAD. It was only a matter of time until some one mashed up 'The Final Countdown'. Brooklyn producer Drop The Lime is the (evil...Phil x) man responsible. I don't know whether to laugh or cry. Is this the new happy hardcore? The breaks are pretty tough though. Party Crashers Unite lay down a 'Bonesbreaks' style breakbeat and sax sample cut with more complex edits and sequencing. Meanwhile on the flip Kid 606 mashes up a Prince sample with Laurent Garnier's 'Crispy Bacon' and a whole load of other samples. Math Head's track 'Broken Glass' is based around a Eurythmics sample. All tracks ARE aimed straight at the floor and remind me of Diplo's Hollertronix series but given the Tigerbeat 6 treatment.
After much anticipation following Knifehandchop's "Dirty New York" ep "The Final Crackdown" is the First Official Release on the Tigerbeat6 dancefloor friendly sublabel TIGERBASS. These four tracks make the dancefloor get political with every song a slashing statement to our inept president bush and his warmongering republican administration. Baltimore Breaks and classic techno and jungle basses clash Over well known songs about the end of the world, firearms, sing along party anthems and treading in dangerous lands. And who better to bring this to you then techno mashup master KID606 and New York's premiere Trouble 'N' Bass Rave terrorists, DROP THE LIME and MATHHEAD whos dj mixes and club nights have been keeping people busy in between there 12"s on BROKLYN BEATS, ADAADAT, RAG & BONE, SHOCKOUT, FLAMIN HOTZ, RUFF, PEACE OFF, REDUCED PHAT,COUNTERFEET and TERMINAL DUSK.
