Big Strides - Always Together

Always Together by Big Strides

“Epic and deeply textured… anyone who is anyone should have it” – Clash Magazine. “Starts off strong, continues strongly and ends even stronger” – CMU Daily (#2 Album of the Year). “I can’t decide if I love it or if it upsets me” – Jonathan Ross, BBC Radio 2. The bluesy, woozy, fun(k) rock ode to a relationship, taken from their album ‘Cry It All Out’, the follow up to their acclaimed debut ‘Small Town, Big Strides’. Produced by eclectic knob-twiddler Dan Swift (Art Brut, the Datsuns, Winnebago Deal, Snow Patrol and Aqualung) and is followed by a radio-session recording of ‘What’s Wrong With Lucy?’ (featured on the album in its studio incarnation) and a bitter sweet sound check inspired track, ‘Soundcheck Bitch’. The unorthodox musical combination of harmonica, double bass, half rapping-half singing, funk drums and rock and roll may make the band harder to lump in with any ‘scene’ or genre but instead of closing doors, surely this will leave things wide open for Big Strides. They’ve already supported Bloc Party, Horace Andy and Arctic Monkeys. Gigs : : LONDON Electric Ballroom 1st March. Radio : XFM and 6 Music’s and Phill Jupitus so far. Hopeful of  Radio 2 with particular praise from Jonathan Ross. Video played by 4Music, VMX:alt, Fizz, and MTV2. Press : Music Week ‘Tastemakers Tip’ , Notion Magazine, Up Music Magazine (whos-jack.co.uk, print and online), unearthedtreasures.co.uk, Base Magazine, thedetour.co.uk (review and competition), ilikemusic.com (review and competition).
