The Polyphonic Spree - Wait

Wait by The Polyphonic Spree

3...according to our on Thu 15 Feb, 2007.

Now flipping POLYPHONIC SPREE with their new single Wait on Good Records. They always threatened so much with the potential to bring the whole world into the "Spree" cult and rejoice, sing and be happy. 2nd album lost its way a bit with Tim DeLaughter thinking he was the most important thing in the band and not the choir that shined behind him... and the songs were shit.... If you haven't heard them they're a big choir with lots of instruments attempting gospel uplifting tunes...go here. On this release we have 2 songs from their forthcoming album and 3 covers of songs by Psychedelic Furs, Tripping Daisy and Nirvana (which is a quite a bizarre but effective effort). Their own songs sound a little staid in comparison to DeLaughter's hero's he covers here. Pretty nice when played loud on a sunny morning looking out over some lush fields. Sounding a bit Magic Numbers and that pure pop thing.

The wait is over. The Polyphonic Spree return with an appetizer for their upcoming album The Fragile Army. The EP Wait features 2 songs from The Fragile Army sessions as well as three covers of Nirvana, The Psychedelic Furs, and Tripping Daisy.
