Moving swiftly on to the ERRORS 'Salut France!' 7" as I'm in danger of wandering into extreme waffle territory. This is a quirky electro track with some guitar underneath the sharp beats and a cool little melody. The bassline is a catchy one too. Flipside 'Maeve Binchy' is more of the same with it's playful twinklie melodies and bleeps. Basically good quality instrumental electro-pop on heavy yellow vinyl. Limited and all on Mogwai's Rock Action label. What the label says: Limited edition seven inch from the Zane Lowe championed Errors. 500 only on heavy yellow vinyl. Like a razor sharp, electronic-acid attack ‘Salut! France’ spits twisted snares and kitsch keyboard loops in your face, before running off into the dark funky shadows. It’s the eerie, gloomy Errors machine we know so well from their ‘Hans Herman’ debut, merging glitchy electronica with mucky guitars, firmly on fuzz and heavily soaked in acid.

About the humble 7":

The humble 7" is the smallest of the vinyl formats (not including the ridiculous 5") and it's the perfect medium for transporting a couple of new songs by up and coming bands straight into your ears. They're fun and they take up less space in your house than something bigger would. They come in a plethora of exciting colours and fantastical packages, and you can fit about 14 minutes onto one 7". You may have to get up every few minutes to put a new record on but think of the exercise. Don't forget every record you buy plays at least 2 speeds (depending on your stereo) and you need to play all records on all speeds to get the maximum joy from your purchase.
