P.W. Long needs no introduction in the history of the American underground, he was a member of WIG and then went to play in Mule. Mule’s recordings remain as some of the most valued work in the obscurity of the 90’s and were produced by Steve Albini.
‘God Bless The Drunkard’s Dog’ is his fourth solo release and P.W. employed the powerhouse drummer Taylor Young, formerly of Young Heart Attack and The Polyphonic Spree.
The duo slug it out in what is definitely his most compelling album to date. The rough edge of bluegrass meets the cocksure swagger of southern rock, measured wryly by a dark heart and delivered with a sharp tongue and vicious
right hook.
